A lot of Norwest head offices are disposing of hardware that was never in Norwest. Franchise and multi-site operators close, refit and relocate sites across the state, and the retired equipment ends up in a storeroom at head office — or worse, stays in a closed store until the lease runs out.

Kinsoft collects and securely destroys end-of-life hardware for businesses across Norwest, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill and Rouse Hill.

What makes a Norwest collection different

Equipment arrives from everywhere. Point-of-sale terminals, back office PCs and network gear from sites across Sydney and regional NSW, accumulated over months, with no consistent record of what came from where.

Point-of-sale holds more than people assume. Terminals and back office machines from retail and food franchises hold transaction records, staff details and sometimes stored payment data, and they are rarely treated as seriously as an office computer.

One report, many sites. Head office generally needs a single consolidated record covering everything disposed of across the network, not a separate certificate pack per location.

Healthcare operators are in the mix. With the hospital and medical businesses in the precinct, some of what gets retired here holds patient information.

Secure data destruction

Drives are wiped to DoD 5220.22-M by default, with NIST 800-88 and the Australian ISM available where required. SSDs use firmware-level Secure Erase. Certificates record make, model, serial number, standard and verification per device, and can be consolidated into one report across all sites. Call 02 9064 2663 or contact us online. We cover Norwest, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Kellyville and Rouse Hill.

We have gear from a dozen closed sites in a storeroom. Can you take it all?

Yes, and that is a common starting point. We will identify what holds data, destroy it properly and give you one record covering the lot.

Can we get a single report rather than certificates per site?

Yes. Head office usually wants one consolidated record across the network, and that is how we produce it.

Do point-of-sale terminals need wiping?

Generally yes. They hold transaction and staff data and sometimes stored card information, and they are the item most often overlooked when a site closes.
