Bankstown’s business base is broad: trades and light industry along the Hume, retail and professional services around the centre, and a dense layer of clubs, community organisations and not-for-profits. Each throws off a different kind of hardware, and the community sector in particular tends to hold personal data well beyond what its IT budget suggests.
Kinsoft collects and securely destroys end-of-life hardware across Bankstown, Padstow, Revesby, Greenacre, Yagoona and Punchbowl.
What makes a Bankstown collection different
Community organisations hold sensitive records. Membership lists, welfare case notes, volunteer details and grant acquittals sit on machines that were donated second-hand and have never been inventoried.
Donated equipment has unknown history. A PC that passed through two organisations before yours may still hold the first one’s data. We treat every drive as unknown rather than trusting a previous wipe.
Clubs run gaming and POS systems. Membership terminals, loyalty systems and back-office PCs hold financial and personal data subject to their own retention rules.
Budgets are tight and equipment is kept long. Collections here skew older: spinning disks, optical drives, even the occasional tower that predates SATA. Older does not mean lower risk.
Secure data destruction
Drives are wiped to DoD 5220.22-M by default, with NIST 800-88 and the Australian ISM available. SSDs use firmware-level Secure Erase. Certificates record make, model, serial, standard and verification per device. Full detail on our e-waste removal and data destruction page.

Call 02 9064 2663 or contact us online. We cover Bankstown, Padstow, Revesby, Greenacre, Yagoona and Punchbowl.
We’re a small not-for-profit. Is this affordable?
Tell us what you have and we will quote plainly. Volume matters more than sector, and a handful of machines is not an expensive job.
The machines were donated to us. Do they still need wiping?
Yes, and arguably more so. You cannot verify what a previous owner left behind, and your own data is on them now regardless.
Can we watch the drives being handled?
Yes. Witnessed collection is available if your board or funder wants it documented.
