Pyrmont is media, technology and production, housed largely in converted wool stores and heritage warehouses. The hardware is unusually drive-heavy — edit suites, render machines, RAID arrays and shelves of archive disks — and the buildings were not designed to get any of it out.

Kinsoft collects and securely destroys end-of-life hardware across Pyrmont, Ultimo, Glebe, Darling Harbour and the western edge of the CBD.

What makes a Pyrmont collection different

Storage volume is the defining feature. A single edit suite can hold more terabytes than an entire accounting firm. Wiping that properly takes time, and the schedule has to allow for it.

RAID arrays need handling as a set. Wiping four of six disks leaves reconstructable data. Arrays are logged and destroyed as a unit, with every member listed.

Footage carries contractual obligations. Production companies hold material under NDA and broadcaster agreements that do not end when the drive is retired.

Heritage buildings have no lifts. Converted warehouses mean narrow stairs, timber floors and loading through a single door. We bring trolleys that suit and enough people to avoid damaging the building.

Secure data destruction

Drives are wiped to DoD 5220.22-M by default, with NIST 800-88 and the Australian ISM available. SSDs use firmware-level Secure Erase. Certificates record make, model, serial, standard and verification per device. Full detail on our e-waste removal and data destruction page.

Arrange a collection

Call 02 9064 2663 or contact us online. We cover Pyrmont, Ultimo, Glebe, Darling Harbour and the western CBD.

We have a 12-bay array. Is every disk accounted for?

Yes. Each member is logged by serial and the certificate shows the array as a set, so there is no question about a missing disk.

Can you sign an NDA covering the footage?

Yes. We sign before collection where production agreements require it.

How long does wiping that much storage take?

Days, not hours, for large arrays. We tell you the realistic timeframe up front rather than promising same-day and shredding instead.
